Hola Amigos!! What a crazy two weeks it’s been since I last wrote! We’ve won our third consecutive Liga, and have a large, shiny pot to show for it! We took Pep’s words to heart like we always do, and ate, drank and danced like there was no tomorrow! Bojan was a little upset that no one told him he was likely to wake up with a splitting headache the next day (he just had a lot of orange juice last year), but the young ones learn to celebrate properly through practice! Just two years back, Leo was wearing a pixie hat and rapping to the audience, and now he’s graduated to single-handedly wrecking entire airplanes! Shows what you can achieve through persistence.

The Deportivo game created a few misunderstandings though. There was a small conversation, that kind of went like this.

VV: I can’t not play for two whole weeks! That’ll completely ruin my rhythm!
Pep: Okay. Warmup.
Leo: I can’t not play for two whole weeks either. It’ll completely ruin my rhythm.
Pep: No. Bench.
Me: (laughing heartily) You’re going to bench Leo?
Pep: You! Stands.

So that’s how I ended up in the stands with sunflower seeds and morose Busi to keep me company. There was Puyi too, trying to be very funny. “Thank heavens there were no goals” he told Busi, “Otherwise Geri might’ve grabbed you and kissed you out of practice”. Hahaha. That’s so not funny.

You know what’s funny? Our new kits, that’s what is funny! In that bad horror movie sort of a way! …
