Messi Wins Hideous Looking Trophy

It was supposed to be a “Golden Shirt”. Well neither is it gold, nor does it remotely resemble anything close to a shirt. The UEFA Best European Player 2011 trophy looks like something Platini designed on his own in his spare time in the basement. Blindfolded. And Leo Messi is the first recipient of this grotesque contraption.

Xavi: Well, don't donate it yet, might come in handy for Halloween.

Puyol: Maybe Xavi & Leo were joking about turning up in training outfit?

Can't believe Puyol really fell for it.

After winning another prestigious award, next only to the top 50 players, Leo Messi gave a short speech in which he thanked his team mates for helping him win the award. He also promised he would store the award in his house (even if under the bed) just like the others, and thanked Mourinho for being the source of ceaseless motivation. Okay, we made the last line up, but you get the gist.

Messi: Maybe it will look better if I put it under a car crusher.

“…Platini made it in his basement…” “… crusher” LOL! You are a genius 😀 Actually this delighted me, more than Puyi’s attire!

thanks Sarah! Glad you enjoyed the post. Puyol turning up in training outfit was hilarious though. Apparently he was informed about it just two hours before the ceremony, but his explanation about wearing the Barca crest close to his heart wasn’t half-bad. 😉

  2. I really like the trophy. It’s cool. Different. Fun. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, isn’t it? I think this question deserves a little poll…

Messi and his dad have matching haircuts!!!
